Twitter ads have not been know to be as prominent as other ads such as Youtube or Facebook but Twitter is making a change. In an attempt to increase revenue twitter filed and IPO (a public offering where shares of stock are sold to general public) and is valued at around 15-20 billion dollars. Twitters business model is dominated by ads but once the IPO goes public twitter users can expect many more ads on their new feeds.
As a twitter user these extra ads are going to be really aggravating and might end up ruining twitter or lessening the amount of people that use it on a regular basis.Take Youtube for example, they began bombarding videos with ads so people got very annoyed and dont want to go on it anymore. I personally will go on any other website to view videos if it means not having to watch those annoying ads. Twitter is making a smart business venture and gaining about $583 million. But would it be worth the cost of ruining the social media network?
